ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

BDO is a leading network of professional services firms delivering firm advisory, accounting, payroll, tax & regulatory compliance, and business outsourcing solutions to organisations across Kenya and East Africa. We are seeking to recruit ambitious, driven and talented individuals to join our Graduate Management Trainees – people who want to build a real career in professional services from day one, with mentorship from experienced professionals across multiple disciplines.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As a GMT, you will rotate across and contribute to the following service areas:

HR & People Operations

Employee records, onboarding support, HR competency and leave tracking

Accounting & Bookkeeping

Posting transactions, reconciliations, client queries, and bookkeeping support

Statutory Compliance

KRA, NSSF/NHIF filings and statutory support

Office & Client Operations

Client onboarding, diary management, scheduling, and reporting

Business Development

Supporting marketing, social media, events, and lead follow-up

Engagement Support

Project trackers, KYC, client engagement, and collections support

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field – Human Resource Management, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or Commerce.
  • Graduated between 2022 and 2025 – recent graduates are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Excellent understanding of, or excel for, the relevant service areas. Word and PowerPoint for client documents
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage is an advantage
  • Comfortable using statutory portals and compliance tools – KRA ITax, NSSF, NHIF/SHIF – is an added advantage
  • Basic understanding of Kenya labour law and statutory compliance requirements
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. English and Swahili is an added advantage
  • A positive, can-do, can-do-it-better attitude – you close loops, document work, and meet deadlines consistently
  • Integrity and discretion in handling confidential client and employee data

ADDED ADVANTAGE

Candidates with any of the following will have a distinct edge:

  • CPA Part I, Part II or Part III
  • Experience in logistics, health, security, or education sectors
  • CHRP qualification (partial or full)
  • Experience in KRA, NSSF, NHIF, Tax, or NSSIF / NHIF portals
