THE ROLE PURPOSE
- The Group Head, Business Process Innovation will lead the strategic transformation of business processes across Equity Group Holdings to drive operational excellence, customer-centricity, and digital enablement. This role is pivotal in aligning process innovation with the Group’s Africa Recovery and Resilience Plan (ARRP), ensuring scalable, efficient, and inclusive financial services delivery across all subsidiaries.
- The role will oversee a multidisciplinary team comprising Certified Business Analysis Professionals (CBAPs), Six Sigma Process Analysts, Power Platform & Workflow Developers, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Analysts, and Change Managers to deliver end-to-end process reengineering and automation initiatives.
THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership & Alignment
- Champion the Group’s Business Process Innovation strategy in alignment with ARRP pillars.
- Translate strategic objectives into actionable process transformation roadmaps across business units and subsidiaries.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and customer-centricity.
Process Innovation & Optimization
- Lead the identification, analysis, redesign, and optimization of core business processes to enhance efficiency, reduce cost, and improve service delivery.
- Oversee the implementation of Lean Six Sigma methodologies to eliminate waste and improve quality.
- Ensure all process innovations are scalable, secure, and compliant with regulatory standards.
Digital Enablement & Automation
- Direct the development and deployment of intelligent automation solutions including RPA, low-code/nocode platforms (e.g., Microsoft Power Platform), and AI-driven workflows.
- Collaborate with IT and Digital teams to integrate process innovations with core banking systems and digital channels.
Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Business Analysts, Process Engineers, Developers, and Change Managers
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND DELIVERABLES
- Lead the design and execution of the Group’s business process innovation strategy.
- Establish & drive group-wide Process Innovation Roadmap aligned with ARRP.
- Oversee the identification, redesign, and optimization of core business processes to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and enhance customer experience.
- Build and lead a high-performing, multidisciplinary team of analysts, developers, and change managers.
- Ensure all process innovations comply with regulatory, risk, and internal audit requirements.
COMPLEXITY EXPECTED IN THE ROLE
- Execution Excellence: Strong project and program management skills to deliver complex initiatives on time, within scope, and budget.
- Stakeholder Influence & Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence senior leadership, manage cross-functional stakeholders, and drive alignment.
- Team Leadership & Development: Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop multidisciplinary teams across geographies and functions.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 12 years of experience in business process transformation, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record in leading large-scale process innovation and automation programs in financial services or similar sectors.
- Bachelors/Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- Professional certifications: CBAP, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Change Management
KEY TECHNICAL AND LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS IN THE ROLE
Business Process Management (BPM):
- Deep expertise in process modeling, analysis, redesign, and optimization using BPMN standards and tools
- (e.g., Visio).
Lean Six Sigma Methodologies:
- Mastery in applying Lean and Six Sigma principles to drive process efficiency, quality improvement, and cost reduction.
Digital Automation & Low-Code Platforms:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI), RPA tools (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere), and workflow orchestration (Newgen).
