Overview

Fairtrade International is the international non-profit, multi stakeholder body that is responsible for the strategic direction of Fairtrade, sets Fairtrade standards and supports producers.
The HR Generalist/HR Officer runs the day-to-day HR tasks and provides HR services to FI employees and Line Managers. The position holder drives effective compensation and benefits topics, including payroll preparation. Liaising closely with all HR colleagues the HR Generalist ensures that HR processes are properly followed in a timely manner. Additionally, the HR Generalist contributes to organisational development and cultural change based on FI Organization Code, Values and Strategy and enforces HR policies and practices.

Principal Roles And Responsibilities
Independent and responsible conduction of the following tasks:
• Handling of compensation and benefits issues, including company pension, childcare contribution, etc.
• Preparation and administration of monthly payroll in cooperation with an external provider
• Coordination of international payroll topics and drafting and issuing of HR documents (e.g. employment contracts, addendums, and HR-Information)
• Support digitalization of HR processes, tools and documents
• Carry out administrative and organizational activities (e.g. working time & absence recording, personnel file maintenance)
• Provide regular and accurate HR Statistics & KPIs
• Support recruitment and personnel development processes
• Participate in HR projects
• Support and substitute HR team members and undertake other tasks that are consistent with the level and responsibilities of this post
• Cooperate with other units, functions, organisations and public authorities on HR related topics

Skills Required
Level of Education

University qualification or commercial apprenticeship with further qualification in relevant field such as Human Resources, Business Administration, or comparable education.

Knowledge / Job Specific Competencies:
• Several years of relevant work experience ideally in an international and intercultural context
• In-depth understanding of HR functions and processes
• Good knowledge of German labour law and social security law, tariff regulation and works constitution law
• Good command of MS Office Suite and digital competence
• Fluent in spoken and written English and German

• Very good coordination and organizational skills
• Very good communication skills and facility in cross-cultural communication
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to meet tight timeframes efficiently and to work independently
• Solution-oriented team player

Terms And Conditions
• This is a full-time position with flexible working hours
• An initial one-year contract is offered. It is envisaged that the contract will be renewable after the initial one year period.
• Location is at Fairtrade International offices in Bonn, Germany, with the possibility to partially work mobile.
• The office language is English
• Salary is as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement for the Wholesale and Foreign Trade Industries for North Rhine Westphalia and Fairtrade International Company Agreement on wages and salaries Group V plus an attractive benefit package
• Starting date: as soon as possible
