HR & Operations Manager

Job Type: Full Time

Qualification: BA/BSc/HND , MBA/MSc/MA

Experience: 8 years

Location: Nairobi

Job Field: Human Resources / HR

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR and operational strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead talent acquisition, onboarding, and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Develop and implement performance management systems across the organization.
  • Oversee employee relations, disciplinary processes, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, company policies, and statutory requirements across operating countries.
  • Develop HR policies, procedures, and operational manuals.
  • Lead compensation, benefits, and reward management programs.
  • Coordinate learning, leadership development, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Monitor employee engagement and organizational culture improvement programs.
  • Oversee daily operational activities to ensure efficiency and service excellence.
  • Develop and monitor operational KPIs and performance dashboards.
  • Streamline operational processes to improve productivity and reduce operational costs.
  • Manage organizational budgets relating to HR and operations.
  • Coordinate procurement and administration functions where applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Oversee fleet, facilities, and office administration functions.
  • Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Lead business continuity and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare periodic management reports and strategic recommendations.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, regulators, and key stakeholders across Eastern Africa.
  • Lead, coach, and develop multidisciplinary teams to achieve organizational objectives.

Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or related field is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 8 years' progressive experience in HR and Operations Management, with at least 3 years in senior management.
  • Experience in logistics, transport, supply chain, or regional operations is highly preferred.
  • Professional HR certification such as CHRP(K), IHRM, CIPD, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of labour laws and HR best practices across East Africa.
  • Proven experience managing large multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong financial and operational management skills.
  • Experience implementing HRIS and ERP systems.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
