Job Purpose Statement
To lead the technical and tactical preparation of the Men’s U17 National Team, overseeing player selection, training, and match performance. The role ensures holistic player development while instilling discipline, professionalism, and adherence to the Federation’s philosophy and FIFA/CAF youth development frameworks.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Player Identification & Monitoring: actively scout and monitor potential U17 players domestically and internationally to build the national squad
- Training Program Development: design and implement age-appropriate training programs balancing team and individual objectives
- Tactical Planning: develop and execute football strategies and tactical approaches for the team
- Skill & Technique Assessment: regularly assess players’ skills and monitor their progress in practice and competition
- Talent Development: act as mentor to players, helping them reach full potential
- Team Cohesion: foster a committed, united, high-performance team culture
- Wellbeing Support: support off-field welfare of players, collaborating with the technical department
- Communication & Leadership: maintain open communication with players, guardians, and stakeholders
- Strategic Collaboration: coordinate with national team manager, technical staff, and authorities on alignment with budgets and objectives
- Professional Conduct: model appropriate behavior and professionalism
- Regulatory & Administrative: hold required coaching licenses; ensure team operations comply with CAF and FIFA regulations
Qualifications & Experience
- CAF A License (mandatory)
- Proven experience coaching youth national teams, academies, or elite clubs
- Strong knowledge of youth player development
- Minimum 7 years’ coaching experience, with at least 3 in youth football

Leadership, motivational skills, tactical and analytical ability, player development focus, communication and interpersonal skills, integrity and professionalism
