Role Summary:
We are looking for a passionate and highly skilled Head Guide to lead the guiding team at Shompole Camp. You will be responsible for delivering world-class safari experiences that are both educational and exhilarating, while championing the highest standards of safety, ethics, and conservation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the guiding team, mentoring them to ensure the highest quality of game drives, walks, and guest interactions.
- Deliver exceptional interpretive guiding, sharing deep knowledge of the local ecosystem, wildlife, and Maasai culture.
- Ensure all guest activities are conducted with the utmost safety and in line with the camp’s conservation and ethical guiding policies.
- Maintain vehicles and guiding equipment to the highest standards.
- Assist with guest hosting and contribute to the overall camp experience.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a senior guide in a remote, high-end safari camp, with a strong preference for KPSGA Gold or Bronze-level certification.
- In-depth knowledge of the local ecology, birdlife, and the greater Amboseli/Shompole ecosystem.
- Exceptional storytelling and guest engagement skills.
- A commitment to conservation and low-impact tourism principles.
- Valid guiding licenses, first aid certification, and a clean driving record.
