JOB DETAILS:
Our client seeks to hire a Head Nurse who will take charge of the overall day to day operations with regard to the basic and health needs of the children in our home and health needs of the school. .

Job Responsibilities:
• Assessing the child’s physical status when he /she is admitted to the home.
• Pro-Actively manage the physical development of the children under the care of the facility.
• Control budgets and monitor expenditure for the welfare department
• Provide leadership and oversight for the caregivers in KCH projects and facilities.
• Responsible for ensuring that the basic needs of the children in our facilities are met including appropriate nutrition
• To work in collaboration with and arrange for visits by General Practitioners, physicians and other specialists as the case may be to provide medical services to the residents.
• Evaluate Assistant nurses’ and caregivers’ performances through the appraisal.
• Establish care plans for all children under our care
• Create and oversee programs (including immunization requirements and plans for combating infectious diseases) that promote health and prevent diseases for our children.
• Ensure healthcare plans are effectively communicated to all stakeholders and fully implemented. This would be measured against success criteria.

  Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing/ Higher Diploma in nursing from a recognized institution
• Must be registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya
• At least 5 years’ work experience as a nurse preferably in a similar setup. Supervisory experience would be an added advantage.
• In-depth knowledge of patient care with an emphasis on pediatric care.
• Thorough knowledge of legal regulations and best practices in healthcare particularly in schools and Charitable Children’s Institutions
• Great communication and people skills.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrable leadership, management and communication skills
• Public health certification would be an added advantage.
• Have a certificate of good conduct
