Health Records Officer (2 Positions)

Role Summary

The Health Records Officer will manage patient medical records and health information systems to ensure accurate documentation, confidentiality, and timely access to patient information for quality healthcare delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Register patients and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Update and retrieve patient files as required.
  • Ensure proper filing, storage, and confidentiality of health records.
  • Support electronic medical records (EMR) management where applicable.
  • Generate health statistics and routine reports.
  • Verify completeness and accuracy of patient information.
  • Maintain records in compliance with legal and institutional policies.
  • Support quality improvement through effective records management.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Health Records and Information Management.
  • Registration with the relevant professional body where applicable.
  • Experience with electronic medical records systems is an added advantage.
  • Good organizational, analytical, and computer skills.
