Responsibilities or duties

• Teach the historical development of education systems, policies, and philosophies over time.
• Supervise students in archival research, historical analysis, and the interpretation of educational documents.
• Conduct research on the evolution of educational thought and systems, and the impact of historical events on education.
• Train students in historical research methods, historiographical approaches, and the analysis of primary sources.
• Develop teaching materials on the history of education in the region and globally, and on influential educational thinkers.
• Guide students in understanding how historical contexts have shaped modern educational practices and institutions.
• Collaborate with educational historians and heritage institutions on research and preservation initiatives.
• Setting, moderating, invigilating and marking examinations.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

i. Applicants should hold a PhD or a master's degree qualification in a relevant field from a recognized academic institution; and possess vast teaching or industry experience at undergraduate/postgraduate levels.

ii. Applicants must have served as a Lecturer or equivalent industry experience in a university or institution recognized by the Senate of JOOUST.

iii. Demonstrate potential for university teaching and/or research;

iv. At least two (2) years teaching experience in a university.

v. Master's holders registered for PhD may be considered

vi. Be registered with the relevant professional body as required by the field of specialization.
