Mitangani Senior School is urgently seeking qualified, passionate, and dedicated teachers to join its academic team on BOM terms. Successful candidates will be responsible for delivering quality instruction in their respective subject combinations, supporting learners' academic development, maintaining effective classroom management, and contributing to the overall success and development of the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, learner-centred lessons in the assigned subject(s).
  • Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, teaching resources, assignments, and assessments.
  • Conduct practical lessons effectively, particularly in Biology, Agriculture, and Home Science.
  • Assess learners through classwork, assignments, tests, practicals, projects, and examinations.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of learners' academic progress.
  • Identify learning gaps and provide appropriate remedial support.
  • Prepare learners adequately for internal and external examinations.
  • Maintain good classroom discipline and create a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Encourage critical thinking, creativity, practical skills, communication, and independent learning.
  • Provide academic guidance, mentorship, and support to learners.
  • Participate in departmental and staff meetings, examinations, co-curricular activities, and school programmes.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow teachers and school administration.
  • Support the school's academic and extracurricular activities.
  • Communicate professionally with parents and guardians regarding learners' progress where required.
  • Uphold school policies, professional teaching standards, and safeguarding requirements.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the school administration.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Relevant teaching qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Strong subject knowledge and ability to teach effectively at the appropriate secondary-school level.
  • Good classroom management and communication skills.
  • Relevant teaching experience will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to learners' academic and personal development.
