A well-upcoming healthcare facility located in Maua, Meru County is seeking to recruit a highly experienced and results-oriented Human Resources Administrator to support its Human Resource and Administrative functions. This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished HR professional with strong leadership skills and proven experience within a hospital environment.

What You Will Do

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of the Human Resources and Administration Department.
  • Lead, supervise, mentor, and develop the HR and Administration team.
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, learning and development, and separation.
  • Ensure compliance with the Employment Act, labour regulations, healthcare sector standards, and organizational HR policies.
  • Oversee payroll administration, staff benefits, leave management, and statutory compliance.
  • Advise management on HR strategy, workforce planning, organizational development, and talent management initiatives.
  • Foster a positive employee relations culture and effectively handle disciplinary and grievance matters.
  • Coordinate performance management processes and support departmental managers in achieving organizational objectives.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices that promote operational excellence.
  • Oversee general administrative functions to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management.
  • Membership with the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) and possession of a valid practising certificate will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years' progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory position.
  • Mandatory experience working in a hospital or healthcare facility.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a workforce of approximately 100 employees, including engagement with 20 or more medical consultants/specialist staff.
  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan labour laws, HR best practices, and healthcare HR operations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • 35 years and above.
  • Mature, decisive, and capable of leading multidisciplinary teams while supporting the hospital's strategic objectives.
