Key Duties & Responsibilities

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee end-to-end HR operations across all sites (contracts, onboarding/offboarding, records, leave); ensure statutory and policy compliance; develop and improve HR SOPs and workflows; maintain strong documentation and audit trails.

Employee & Industrial Relations

  • Manage employee relations and industrial relations matters; guide managers on labour laws and best practices; drive grievance resolution; support legal/compliance processes where disputes escalate; proactively advise leadership on legislative changes.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and coordinate a geographically distributed HR team; set priorities, monitor service delivery standards, coach and develop HR staff, and ensure accountability and consistent execution across sites.

Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting

  • Provide structured HR operational updates to the Director; partner with departmental heads on workforce needs; oversee onboarding programs; prepare HR operational reports (headcount, turnover, absenteeism, disciplinary trends, compliance); use HR data to identify risks and recommend interventions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business Administration or related field (Master’s added advantage); IHRM membership required;
  • 6–8 years progressive HR experience with at least 3 years in HR management; experience managing HR operations in large-scale, multi-site/manufacturing FMCG environment; proven experience managing a distributed HR team; strong knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and OSHA compliance; experience working with external HR consultants/service providers.
