We are a non-governmental child protection organization, working in 136 countries. We are committed to the principle of child-centeredness, and our work is guided by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Responsibilities
The Humanitarian Action Advisor will be responsible for:
- Providing technical support and guidance on humanitarian action to national associations and regional offices.
- Developing and implementing humanitarian action strategies and programs.
- Ensuring compliance with international humanitarian standards and principles.
- Conducting needs assessments and developing project proposals.
- Monitoring and evaluating humanitarian projects.
- Representing SOS Children's Villages in humanitarian coordination meetings.
- Building the capacity of staff and partners in humanitarian action.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Master's degree in International Relations, Humanitarian Affairs, Development Studies, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in humanitarian action, with a focus on program design, implementation, and M&E.
- Strong knowledge of international humanitarian law and principles.
- Experience in working with NGOs and UN agencies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Fluency in English and French is an asset.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
