JOB DETAILS:
• Our Client, a private, co-educational set of age specific schools, comprising of Secondary, Preparatory and Kindergarten schools, seeks to recruit an ICT & Computer Science Teacher. S/he will be responsible for teaching student’s computer and programming knowledge skills. They will assist students understand computers functionality, covering scientific and mathematical concepts behind them and their hardware and software components.
• Reports To: Head Teacher
• Job Location: Karen

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Be punctual for school and lessons.
2. Attend assemblies and register children as and when required.
3. Plan schemes of work and prepare lessons.
4. Set homework in accordance with laid down policy.
5. Mark work done by the children on time and in line with policy
6. Set exams and tests as necessary and monitor the progress of children.
7. Attend staff meetings and in service training out of working hours as directed by line manager.
8. Supervise children in and out of lessons.
9. Accept a reasonable and prescribed number of school duties outside the normal teaching hours.
10. Participate in the school’s program of extra-curricular activities by running club/activity programs.
11. Take an interest in the pastoral welfare of children and bring to the notice of the Head teacher, children with particular issues.
12. Plan ahead the needs of his/her teaching subjects; provide the school with the lists of resources required and their costs. Must be digital and done for every lesson taught.
13. Supervise discipline and standards of behavior and dress within the school by maintaining a high standard and setting a personal example in all these matters.
14. Write reports and submit by deadlines given and provide assessment on pupils.
15. Assist in the preparation and marking as necessary with entrance examinations, yearly examinations and external examinations held in the school.
16. Hand over all books, keys and records as and when required by the school.
17. Undertake a mentoring or training role in the training of other teachers.
18. Lead in-service sessions within the fields of teacher specialization or particular expertise.
19. Be involved in the performance management process as directed by the school.
20. If in a position of responsibility, perform in accordance duties as per a specific job description pertaining to the position.
21. Assist with in-service training as required and within your capability.
22. To attend residential off site trips based on form tutors, subject teachers or other staff. (based on rotation)
23. In addition to the duties specified above, your duties will also include any reasonable task within your capability and that may be assigned to you by your Head Teacher.

Skills and Qualifications
1. Minimum of 7 years work experience in the same or similar position
2. Degree in computer science or related field
3. Must have a Teachers Service Commission Certificate (TSC)
4. Excellent communicator with good presentation skills
5. Passionate about fostering computer literacy and academic excellence.
6. Ability to meet deadlines with timely updates on progress.
7. Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload.
8. Outstanding organizational and management skills.
9. Discretion and confidentiality
