Background
Established in 1997, Lion's SightFirst Eye Hospital is among the leading Eye hospitals in East & Central Africa. We are located in the serene Loresho neighborhood, 25 minutes from the Nairobi CBD. We also offer Dental, ENT & Diabetes healthcare services.
The ICT Manager will lead the development and management of all IT-related systems, infrastructure, and services at LSEH. This position is critical for ensuring the hospital’s operational efficiency, data security, and continuous digital innovation to enhance service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
ICT Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement ICT strategies aligned with the hospital’s goals and operational needs.
- Manage the ICT budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
- Stay updated with trends and technologies relevant to healthcare.
Network and Systems Management:
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of all hardware, software, and networks.
- Ensure uptime, performance, and reliability of ICT infrastructure, including hospital management systems (HMS) and electronic medical records (EMR).
- Manage servers, data storage, and backups to ensure data integrity and availability.
Cybersecurity and Compliance:
- Implement cybersecurity protocols and risk management strategies to safeguard data and systems.
- Ensure compliance with data protection laws and industry regulations.
- Conduct regular system audits and vulnerability assessments.
Support and Training:
- Provide technical support to staff and troubleshoot ICT issues promptly.
- Organize training programs to improve staff proficiency in using ICT systems.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
- Manage relationships with ICT vendors and service providers.
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand their ICT needs and provide solutions.
Innovation and Project Management:
- Lead digital transformation projects to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
- Manage ICT projects from inception to completion, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in ICT management, preferably in healthcare or a similar setting.
- Proven experience in managing ICT infrastructure, networks, and software systems.
- Familiarity with healthcare technologies (HMS, EMR, etc.) and data security protocols.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in network administration, system management, and database technologies.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
- Experience with cloud technologies and digital transformation projects.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Prince2).
Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- High degree of integrity and commitment to organizational goals.
