About the Role

Durham International Schools is seeking a dedicated and skilled ICT Support Technician to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our school's IT infrastructure, supporting staff and students, and maintaining a reliable technological environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support to staff and students, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
  • Perform regular maintenance and updates on IT equipment and systems.
  • Assist in the management of IT inventory and assets.
  • Respond to IT support requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Document IT procedures and solutions.
  • Support the implementation of new IT projects and initiatives.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of the school's IT systems.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an ICT Support Technician or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS), and common software applications.
  • Familiarity with network concepts and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+) are an added advantage.

Experience

Minimum of 2 years of experience in ICT support.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based at our school in Nairobi. You will be working in a dynamic educational environment, collaborating with teachers, administrators, and students.
