Grevy's Zebra Trust (GZT) is a Kenyan conservation organization conserving the endangered Grevy's zebra and its habitat in northern Kenya. We are seeking an Impact and Learning Manager who, reporting to the Director of Research and Impact, will oversee GZT's higher-level impact monitoring and evaluation systems, manage academic partnerships to strengthen mission delivery, and communicate impact and learning results to diverse audiences, contributing to key strategic decisions for the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead ecological and social data analysis, conduct biannual evaluations of Impact Models, and co-facilitate quarterly learning workshops to adapt programs for stronger conservation outcomes.
- Communicate GZT's impact across donor reports, academic journals, conferences, and social media, while supporting leadership and teams with data visualization and analysis.
- Provide regular progress updates, contribute to organization-wide work planning aligned with GZT's Strategic Plan, and coordinate the Research and Impact team.
- Mentor and develop Research Officers and the Ecological Monitoring Officer, strengthening team capacity in data analysis and managing interns effectively.
- Implement and maintain SMART and ArcGIS Online dashboards, ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and secure backups across the department.
- Build academic partnerships, coordinate visiting researchers, support the Great Grevy's Rally, and facilitate donor engagement to advance GZT's mission.
Qualifications and Experience
- Postgraduate qualification in ecological or social science. Those with knowledge of both disciplines have an added advantage.
- Proficiency in SMART, impact models, statistical software, GIS, and smartphone/tablet data collection tools.
- Fluent written and verbal English and Kiswahili, with the ability to present complex science to non-technical audiences.
- Prior experience in Impact & Learning or M&E, with a track record in grant proposal and scientific report writing.
- Proven experience leading and managing a small team with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Curious, adaptable, and field-ready, with unimpeachable integrity and a passion for the outdoors.
