Responsibilities or duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, blasting, or applying primers.
- Apply paint, varnish, coatings, and protective finishes using spray guns, rollers, or brushes.
- Mix paints and coatings according to technical specifications and safety guidelines.
- Inspect surfaces before and after painting to ensure quality and uniformity.
- Read and follow work instructions, technical drawings, and coating specifications.
- Maintain painting tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of paints, solvents, and chemicals.
- Work closely with welders, fabricators, and production teams to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Certificate or training in Industrial Painting, Spray Painting, or a related field.
- Knowledge of surface preparation techniques (sanding, blasting, priming, etc.).
- Understanding of safety procedures when handling paints and chemicals.
- Good attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality finishes.
- Physically fit and able to work in an industrial environment.
Experience needed
- Minimum [2–4] years of experience in industrial or spray painting.
- Experience working in manufacturing, construction, or engineering environments is an added advantage.
