Kenya Trade Network Agency (KENTRADE) is a state Agency under treasury that is mandated to facilitate cross border trade, Establish, manage and implement the Kenya National Electronic Single Window System (KNESWS). The overall objective of the National Electronic Single Window System Project is to facilitate international trade by reducing delays and lowering costs associated with clearance of goods at the Kenyan borders while maintaining the requisite controls and collection of levies, fees duties and taxes, where applicable on imports or exports. We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:
Responsibilities or duties
Design, set up and configure complex switching environments, wireless networks (that support secured access and the ability to support voice and video applications) and Firewalls, VPN Concentrators and security appliances for access to vital mission critical applications
Maintain network security through proper configuration of VPN and Firewalls
Maintain the LAN and its associated components (switches, structured cabling, power provisioning, etc.) and both the wired and the wireless network inclusive of performance, security, throughput and upgrades
Implement multi-user environments, including IP address schemes, DNS, WINS, Ether- Channel
Provide technical assistance and support to internal staff, vendors, and partner agencies
Develop and implement upgrades by developing, testing, evaluating and installing enhancements
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for implemented networks
Ensure that all work and changes to infrastructure components are performed in such a way as to minimize disruptions to existing ICT services
Keep track of KenTrade’s infrastructure assets and ensure that the infrastructure and data is kept secure at all times
Ensure that technology is used, managed and supported in accordance with KenTrade’s standards, policies and procedures
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Bachelor’s degree in ICT, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related from a recognized institution
Professional Certification - CCNA
Knowledge of IT interpret IT infrastructure Design, implementation and support
Meets provision of chapter six of the Constitution
