The AWF-Wall Youth Leadership Program aims to empower young leaders in conservation.

Responsibilities or duties

Research and Content Development

  • Support in the research and analysis of output that will inform the final digital course, as guided by the Senior Officer, Youth Leadership. Research will form a bulk of this role and will cover the following areas:
  • Analysis of current hybrid training materials to inform adaptation to the digital version
  • Research and analyse existing digital courses to identify effective learning methodologies, interactivity mechanisms, and engagement strategies suitable for the digital version
  • Research of various e learning platforms to identify suitable hosting platforms
  • Mapping out stakeholders who would support the delivery of the digital version
  • Support content development–related administrative tasks, including analysis of research outputs, brainstorming support, and e-learning platform content setup
  • Participate in content development and design sessions

Administrative and logistical support

  • Provide high quality support to the AWF-Wall Youth Leaderhsip Program, including scheduling and recording of meetings, monitor documents for signature/approval, monitor and follow up issues and priorities, handle incoming correspondence and internal and external correspondence
  • Lead the preparation, compilation, and systematic filing of research outcome documents, including but not limited to needs analysis reports, market research reports, and other analytical outputs generated from the research process.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for the delivery of the hybrid version, including virtual sessions scheduling, Learning Management System management, participant communications, Two in-person workshop support , and reporting support as required.

The role holder will come in to contact with a wide range of stakeholders and will be required to demonstrate commitment to and a good understanding of AWF’s Rights Based Conservation approaches, values, and principles.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Requirements and skills

  • A degree in environmental, development, political or social studies or any related field
  • Must be passionate about conservation and sustainable development, and working in youth-oriented projects.
  • Administrative, organisational, and time management skills
  • Good multi-cultural and interpersonal skills
  • Proven written, analytical, presentation and computing skills.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English. Fluency in French is an added advantage
  • You are a great fit if you demonstrate creativity and an openness to learn and be adaptable.

Experience needed

  • At least 1 year of working experience/exposure in environmental sciences, conservation, business, social innovation, community development, social sciences or a related field.
  • Exposure to supporting research activities, such as needs assessments, market or landscape analysis, baseline studies, desktop reviews, stakeholder analysis, or similar research exercises.
