About APDK
The Arthritis Kenya (APDK) is a national non-governmental organization dedicated to improving the lives of people with arthritis and related conditions in Kenya. APDK works through its branches across the country to provide medical care, rehabilitation services, and support to patients.
Responsibilities
The Internal Auditor will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing audit plans.
- Conducting financial, operational, and compliance audits.
- Assessing internal controls and recommending improvements.
- Preparing audit reports and presenting findings to management.
- Following up on audit recommendations to ensure implementation.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CIA, or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience in internal audit, preferably within the NGO sector.
- Strong knowledge of auditing standards and best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and audit tools.
