Responsibilities or duties
Interns will be assigned to specific units or projects within UNDP Kenya and will be expected to contribute to the team's work. Specific responsibilities will vary depending on the assigned unit but may include:
- Assisting in research and data collection on development issues.
- Supporting the organization of meetings, workshops, and events.
- Contributing to the drafting of reports, presentations, and communication materials.
- Providing administrative support to the team.
- Participating in team meetings and discussions.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Currently enrolled in a Master's degree or PhD programme, or have recently graduated (within the last two years) with a Master's degree or PhD.
- Strong academic background in a field relevant to UNDP's work (e.g., development studies, economics, political science, environmental science, public health, law, communications).
- Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken). Knowledge of other UN languages is an asset.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience needed
No prior professional experience is required, but relevant internship or volunteer experience in a related field is an advantage.

This internship is unpaid. UNDP will provide a stipend to cover basic living expenses. Interns are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, and visa arrangements.
