The Independent Policing Oversight Authority is established pursuant to the Independent Policing Oversight Authority Act Cap. 86 Laws of Kenya. Its main function is to provide for civilian oversight over the work of the Police. The Authority wishes to recruit results-oriented Kenyan citizens with drive, vision and creativity to fill the following vacant positions:-

IPOA/HR/11/2025 Investigations Officer II IPOA 9 1 Post
Information Gathering & Evidence Collection: Conduct research, field inquiries, and interviews with complainants, witnesses, and suspects to collect information and gather evidence. Evidence Management: Ensure the integrity and continuity of evidence by maintaining accurate records and protecting sensitive information. Analysis and Findings: Analyze gathered information and evidence to determine facts, identify patterns, and establish findings related to misconduct, fraud, or policy violations. Report Writing: Prepare clear, concise, and detailed investigation reports, including findings, evidence, and recommendations for action. Collaboration: Work with internal and external stakeholders, including other investigators, supervisors, and relevant agencies, to coordinate efforts and achieve investigative goals. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks identified during investigations. Data and Statistics: Maintain relevant statistical information and prepare reports for management. Legal & Procedural Adherence: Ensure all investigative activities comply with applicable laws, policies, and ethical standards.
Interviewing: Ability to conduct interviews and take statements effectively from diverse individuals. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to review evidence, identify patterns, and draw logical conclusions. Report Writing: Excellent written communication skills to produce clear, precise, and comprehensive investigation reports. Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with data processing, analysis, and other relevant computer applications. Ethical Conduct: A strong understanding of confidentiality, impartiality, and ethical standards. Problem-Solving: Ability to assess situations quickly, develop strategies, and find practical solutions to investigative challenges. Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with witnesses, suspects, and colleagues. Knowledge of Law & Procedure: Understanding of relevant criminal law, codes, and investigative procedures.
