The Need
International Justice Mission is a global organization that protects people in poverty from violence. IJM partners with local authorities in 33 program offices in 23 countries to combat slavery, police abuse of power, violence against women and children, and other forms of abuse against people who are poor. IJM works to rescue and restore victims, hold perpetrators accountable, and help strengthen public justice systems. Started in 2001, M's office in Kenya works to combat police abuse of power against people who are poor, as well as sexual violence against children Inspired by God's call to love all people and to seek justice for people under oppression, IJM works with bcal authorities to protect people in poverty from violence, without regard to religious background and beliefs or any other factor and seeks to work alongside all people of goodwill.

IJM is looking for passionate individuals to provide leadership and collaboratively work with Government agencies, civil society, churches and other partners.
The successful candidates will lead in designing and implementing initiatives aimed at developing changing legislation and policies in the Criminal Justice System, leading to a reduction of violence against people who are poor. The successful candidates will so work closely with other UM Senior Managers to ensure that organizational specific goals are achieved Qualified applicants are invited to apply for the following open positions:

Investigator (13 Months' Contract)
IJM is seeking a passionate individual to serve in an ongoing 2-year Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSC) Project at the Coast Region, Qualified applicants are invited to apply to fill this position for the next 13 months
The Field Investigator will ensure that cases of CSEC are effectively investigated and documented for legal action.
The Investigator will work alongside other professionals in developing and implementing case intake procedures and collection of investigative case details before and after the case intake process.
The incumbent will mobile, plan meetings and train members of the community, NPS and other agencies to understand investigation procedures and community role in curbing their jurisdiction crimes related to Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children.
He/she will keep data of intelligence information collected and disseminate the same to the Senior Manager-CSEC and including leemings and emerging trends that will help in planning in making the policing and other government agencies professional to end the vice of CSEC.
This position reports to Senior Manager CSECSU-CSEC)

Education & Experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience conducting criminal investigations, with the Kenya National Police Service
Directorate of Criminal Investigation or other government agency with investigative responsibilities. including special operation assignments/Private investigation institution
•A Bachelor Degree in Criminology and Forensics. Or a related field
• Valid certificate of good conduct
•Knowledge of laws governing investigation and prosecution of criminal cases
•Experience in documenting and examining crime scenes, collection and preservation of evidence and establishing proper chain of custody.
• Proven ability to recruit train and maintain productive informants and operatives, collect actionable criminal Intelligence information and develop proactive strategies and initiatives to curb criminal activities
• Trained in criminal investigation techniques and processes

• Competitive salary, and benefits package. . The first 2 positions are full-time positions based in Nairobi.
• Investigator position is fixed term and is based in Mombasa
