We are an agent of Lake Victoria South Water Works Development Agency(LVSWWDA), created as a result of the enactment of the Water Act 2002 which gave birth to the Water Sector Reforms in Kenya.
  • Technical Manager

    Ref: 001/2022

    Job description

    The duties and responsibilities of technical manager entail: -

    • Ensuring compliance with established standards for planning, design, construction, and operation and maintenance of water and waste water services and facilities.
    • Ensuring achievement of the key performance indicators in line with the water sector benchmarks on water coverage, sewerage coverage, water quality, metering ratio, non-revenue water, operation and maintenance costs among other.
    • Implementing technical standards of the company.
    • Evaluating performance of the company on all the specified key performance indicators to ensure continuous improvement.
    • Responsible for water conservation and demand management for the water utility.
    • Ensuring that all materials, parts, chemicals are used in operations and meets required safety and quality standards not to compromise on staff, customer or public health and safety.
    • Responsible for ensuring all technical operations and projects are carried out in accordance with approved budgets.
    • Responsible for development of framework for management and maintenance of the water distribution system, sewer system in the company’s area of operation.
    • Managing all waters produced and fed into the system to minimize wastage and losses and ensure much of the water produced and fed into the distribution system is accounted for.
    • Identify training needs for the  department staff.
    • Mentor and coach departmental staff.
    • Develop department budget and work plan.
    • Identify and Prepare procurement needs of the department.
    • Participate in strategic planning and implementation.
    • Responsible for physical assets assigned to the department.
    • Makes strategic, operational and technical decisions for the department.
    • Plans, assigns and monitors staff work performance, appraises / evaluates departments/ staff performance.
    • Work closely with other departments / sections in all areas.
    • Any other duties as may be assigned by the Managing Director from time to12 time.

    Academic, professional requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, water / waste water engineering from a recognized institution.
    • Registered Engineer with the relevant professional body and member in good standing.
    • At least 12 years’ experience with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial or supervisory position in the water sector.
    • Ability to prepare technical report/proposals

    Finance Manager

    Ref: 002/2022

    Job Purpose

    The Finance Manager is responsible for the financial function of the Company to perform financial analysis and reporting as needed and as per the laid down financial procedures, in accordance to the Public Finance Management act, 2012. And comply with the financial reporting standards.

    • Reporting: To the Managing Director
    • Supervises: Finance deparment/ functional staff

    Job description

    The duties and responsibilities shall entail:

    • Oversee performance and management in the finance department
    • Develop department budget and work plan.
    • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual reports for thedepartment and any other reports as required and directed by Managing Director.
    • Prepare Board management papers for approval.
    • Prepare and review departmental policies and accounting manuals in line with international financial standards and government regulations.
    • Budget preparation/ cash flow management review to ensure sustainability and provide strategic advice to the company.
    • Manage/reporting of financial statements, performance to the company.
    • Participate in strategic planning and implementation.
    • Establish and ensure application of sound financial policies i.e finance manual for the company, systems and procedures for the company in compliance with statutory regulations.
    • Conduct periodic review of actual performance against budget and report to the Managing Director.
    • Responsible for physical assets assigned by the company.
    • Develop strategic operational and financial plans for the company
    • Identify training needs, mentor and coach departmental staff.
    • Plans,assigns,monitors,Appraises/evaluates staff/departmental performance.
    • Work closely with the CMT in all areas.
    • Performing any other work as may be assigned by the managing director from time to time.

    Academic, Professional requirements.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or any other related business- field.
    • A masters degree will be an added advantage
    • CPA (K), ACCA or relevant professional qualification
    • Member of a relevant professional body and in good standing.
    • At least 12 years’ experience with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial or supervisory position.

    ICT Manager

    Job purpose

    The ICT Manager will be responsible for ICT functionality in the company with  the primary purpose of enhancing effectiveness and efficiency.

    • Reporting: To the Managing Director.
    • Supervises: ICT department / function staff.

    Job description

    The duties and responsibilities include: -

    • Plan, develop, coordinate and ensure delivery of all company ICT requirements including the policies, operations, manuals and departmental budget.
    • Prepare technical specifications for procurement on both hardware and software.
    • Manage all new installations, upgrades, enhancements, administration and maintenance of the ICT infrastructure and equipment, ensure that the LAN, Telephone Systems and WAN are operational.
    • Manage the security of the company information by developing the necessary network protocols and the implementation of disaster recovery procedures.
    • Manage and relay relevant ICT-related information to the company in timely manner including the M&E reports.
    • Manage departmental staff performance, development, training and motivation for effective performance.
    • Train all end users on the use of ICT systems and equipment to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
    • Advise management on current and future ICT trends.
    • Performing any other work as may be assigned by the managing director from time to time.

    Academic/ Professional Requirements

    • Degree in Computer Science, Information Science/Technology or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
    • Demonstrated professional ability, initiative and competence in organizing and directing work.
    • Certification of CISCO Certified Network Associate.
    • At least 5 years’ experience with a minimum of 4 years in busy organization.
