Chogoria hospital was started by the Scottish missionaries back in 1922 with the help of Mr and Mrs. Irvine being in charge. Chogoria hospital is on a side-road that branches off Embu - Meru highway about 2km from the highway. Chogoria hospital was built in a serene environment around 200km north of Nairobi city. It is situated within the fast-growing Chogoria township in the Mwimbi division, Maara district in Tharaka - Nithi county.

Students’ Custodian (Re-Advertisement)

Academic and professional Qualifications for the Position

  • Minimum Diploma in Hospitality Management/Housing Keeping
  • Relevant work experience in a similar capacity an added advantage
  • Basic counselling skills an added advantage
  • Computer literacy and demonstrated ability to use MS word and Excel
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior interpersonal skills
  • Ability to anticipate and respond to the needs of the students
  • High degree of sense of duty and responsibility
  • Must demonstrate high integrity
  • Must be a lady of age 30 years and above

Minimum Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety and security of students’ in the hostels
  • Ensure cleanliness, neatness and orderliness in the hostels
  • Verify room occupancy and issuance of rooms to new students
  • Conduct checks of facilities and properties and report any damages for repair
  • Follow up with the maintenance department of the hospital for various electrical and plumbing repairs
  • Prevent access to the hostels by unauthorized individuals
  • Ensure students discipline and adherence to rules while in the halls of residence
  • Respond to students related issues which include but not limited to sickness.
  • Issue and manage consumable supplies in their respective hostels
  • Any other duties assigned by immediate supervisor
  • Serving the student meals

Public Health Officer

Minimum Qualifications & Professional Attributes

  • Minimum Diploma in either Environmental Health Science or Public Health Inspection from a recognized institution.
  • At least four (1) year post qualification experience in a similar setting, Hospital experience will be an added advantage.
  • A valid Public Health Officers and Technicians Registration Council Certificate.
  • Certificate of proficiency in computer applications from a recognized institution.
  • Excellent skills in monitoring, evaluation, data analysis and reporting.
  • Familiarity with the necessary provisions of the Public Health Act Cap 242 and Food, Drugs and other Chemical Substances Cap 254 and other regulation in force.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to interview, teach and counsel patients; instruct health care personnel on procedures and treatment.
  • Ability to design, carry out and evaluate training.
  • Ability to design and conduct operations research, analyze and utilize research findings in planning activities to improve service delivery.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Inspection for preventive maintenance in the Hospital, hospital sanitation, healthcare and waste management.
  • Implementing sanitation and hygiene standards in the Hospital
  • Mobilizing, sensitizing and advising Hospital peripheral communities on matters related to environmental health.
  • Identifying environmental health issues.
  • Infection prevention and Control within the Hospital
  • Organizing community health days to advise the Hospital community on common public health issues.
  • Implementing vector, vermin and rodent control measures.
  • Participating in research, teaching and supervising the performance of both medical and non-medical staff as well as students.
  • Participating in preparation of annual budgets for the department.
  • Participating in Administrative activities of the department.
  • Participating in delivery of hospital strategic plan.
  • Design or use monitoring tools, like as screening, lab records, and vital information, to recognize health risks.
  • Develop tools to address behavioral causes of diseases.
  • Deliver details about potential health risks and possible treatments to the management and other health care experts.
  • Design, implement, or assess health service delivery systems to enhance the health of specific patients or communities.

Business Development Officer

Minimum Qualifications & Professional Attributes

  • Degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, Strategic Management, Finance or any other relevant field
  • Post graduate training in Marketing, Quality Assurance, Project Management will be an added advantage
  • Member of Marketing Society of Kenya or any other relevant professional body
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Customer Relationship Management systems
  • Proficiency in Website and Social Media applications and analytics
  • At least 2 years’ experience in Business Development, Sales and/or Marketing preferably in a Hospital set up

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy:

  • Support the Hospital’s Marketing Committee in creation and execution of the Hospital Marketing and Publicity Strategic
  • Contribute to development of business plans and work with department heads to execute business development initiatives.
  • Support the Hospital Brand initiative in the management of the Firm’s
  • Track industry news for opportunities/issues.
  • Monitor competitor activity, client and company, sector and geographic trends, draw conclusions, assess implications and prepare marketing and research reports recommend appropriate intervention strategies to ensure the hospital has an edge over the competition
  • Develop customer care strategies and distribution strategies to acquire, expand and retain profitable relationships. Supervise and coordinate the hospital service charter so as to ensure that all are informed and service levels are executed to standard.

Lead Generation:

  • Identify new and follow up business opportunities for the Hospital.
  • Manage the pitch/proposal-development process from start to
  • Identify or create client/prospect outreach development tools such as one-on-one meetings, seminars and speaking engagements, events, sponsorships, client alerts, newsletters, fact sheets and other direct client communications.
  • Develop and manage corporate communications strategies

Publicity:

  • Oversee the development and printing of all marketing
  • Ensure the Hospital website is up to date, fully functional and representative of the Hospital
  • Manage the Hospital social media channels including engagement, postings and analytics
  • Identify opportunities for thought leadership and other marketing and campaign ideas to increase brand awareness within the practices.
  • Work with the team leads to create announcements and to develop and implement BD plans that take the firm’s synergies and cross-selling opportunities into consideration.
  • Carry out periodic effectiveness review of the products and distribution channels and report to management

Community Oral Health Officer (Re-Advertisement)

Minimum Job Requirements.

  • Diploma in Community Oral Health from Kenya Medical Training College or an equivalent recognized institution.
  • Proficiency in Computer skills
  • Minimum Two years working experience as a Community Oral Health Officer in a reputable health facility an added advantage.
  • Registered as a Community Oral Health Officer with the regulatory body.
  • Valid current Practicing License.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive dental and periodontal examination, radiographic investigation, diagnosis and treatment of common dental conditions.
  • Oral hygiene education and diet counselling.
  • Scaling, polishing and prophylaxis.
  • Fissure sealant and Fluoride application.
  • Minor oral surgery: extractions, simple suturing, Incision and drainage, reducing simple fractures.
  • Class I restorations and temporary fillings
  • Alginate impressions and study model fabrication.
  • Implement and adhere to infection prevention protocols 
  • Consulting with and Referral to dentist and other specialists.
  • Guiding students on attachment
