Responsibilities
As a Video Journalist within the Tigrinya team, you are responsible for coming up with video ideas, video shooting and editing, preparing scripts for video and online text. You will also be responsible for sharing some of the stories covered across the BBC.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
- Use a range of video, audio, and digital equipment, as well as information technology, to research, write, assemble, edit, and deliver content in the appropriate medium to the highest professional standards.
- Present content on radio, television, or online platforms, either live or recorded, as required.
- Undertake pre-production, post-production, and studio work for both live and pre-recorded programmes.
- Collaborate closely with your immediate team and the wider BBC to ensure high-quality editorial and technical output.
- Take a lead within a team setting or delivering a specific piece of journalism or project as appropriate.
Qualifications and Experience
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Significant recent experience as a journalist, with a good knowledge of production techniques.
- Demonstrate excellent video editing skills and strong teamwork abilities.
- Excellent command of Tigrinya and English.
- Ability to deliver under tight deadlines while maintaining the highest editorial standards.
- Ability to use technology as required, to gather material for broadcast.
