Role Overview
Our client is on a mission to make it easy for online merchants to seamlessly receive funds from their customers at
the customers’ point of convenience, creating a reliable and frictionless payment experience. This is achieved
through building a robust financial infrastructure tailored to the evolving needs of modern businesses.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Junior Accountant with experience in fintech and audit
environments to support daily finance operations, reconciliations, and reporting across group entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full petty cash cycle, including reconciliations and reporting.
- Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register in accordance with company policy.
- Assist in maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records.
- Validate and review transactions within the accounting system.
- Reconcile bank statements, digital wallets, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Review daily reconciliation reports and advise on merchant and payment partner balances, rolling
reserves, and settlements (daily and monthly).
- Prepare and share platform reconciliation reports with merchants and payment partners.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes for group entities.
- Assist in providing documentation and information during statutory and tax audits.
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (minimum Second-Class Upper Division).
- CPA (K) finalist or ACCA qualified.
- 2–3 years’ experience in a fast-paced environment with exposure to end-to-end finance processes,
preferably within a group structure.
- Prior experience in an audit firm is highly desirable.
- Previous experience working in a fintech start-up is an added advantage.
Technical and Professional Skills
- Strong understanding of IFRSs and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Solid knowledge of internal financial controls.
- Proficiency in accounting software, preferably QuickBooks and/or Zoho.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
Personal Attributes
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Self-driven, proactive, and eager to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
