Our client, a reputable and growing law firm, is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Associate to join its team. The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality legal services across the Firm's practice areas while contributing to client satisfaction, matter management, and the continued growth of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and review litigation documents, including pleadings, applications, and correspondence, ensuring accuracy and legal precision.
- Attend court and represent clients professionally and competently.
- Draft and review legal documents, including HR policies and manuals, employment-related instruments, and commercial contracts.
- Deliver legal services in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
- Conduct legal research and provide clear, concise, and practical legal opinions.
- Write legal articles and other thought leadership materials.
- Develop training materials and facilitate client and internal training sessions where required.
- Prepare internal reports and other legal documentation within stipulated timelines.
- Support billing and debt collection processes to ensure timely invoicing and recovery.
- Uphold the Firm's values, culture, and professional standards in all assignments.
- Undertake any other duties assigned from time to time in accordance with the Firm's policies and guidelines.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from a recognized university.
- Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a valid practicing certificate.
- A minimum of three (3) years' post-admission experience is mandatory.
- Demonstrable litigation practice experience is mandatory.
- Proven experience in drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and advising clients.
- Strong analytical, research, and legal writing skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Working knowledge of employment law and commercial law, with a keen interest in developing expertise in these areas.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and work effectively under pressure.
