Job Description:
Secours Islamique France (SIF) is a Non-Governmental Organization of international solidarity based in France. Founded in 1991, SIF is a non-profit and non-political organization that intents to help, to bring relief and to protect the lives of those threatened by natural disaster s, armed conflicts or by economic collapse. SIF provides its help in respect of the cultural diversity, without any distinction of origin, religion or gender.
Secours Islamique France is looking to fill a Junior Logistics Coordinator position based in Nairobi, Kenya with frequent visits to Kismayo, Somalia.
Under the supervision of the Head of Mission, as part of the Coordination Team and while supervising the Logistics team, you will be in charge of coordinating, planning and guaranteeing the follow-up on logistic activities of all the bases of the mission, be responsible for the implementation of the security plan of the mission, and will provide lo gistical support to all field offices, including support and training as required.

Your work will consist of:
Procurement and supply chain management
• Ensuring strict compliance with all SIF logistics policies and procedures while managing logistics function.
• Assessing logistics needs and issues for every new project.
• Following up on the procurement for all bases.
Warehouse and Stock Management
• Ensuring that all goods are packed safely and segregated according to their nature.
• Managing stock data and tracking systems in accordance with SIF standards.
• Ensuring the timely maintenance of the store building(s) and all equipment related to safe store keeping.
Asset Management
• Managing asset inventory and tracking systems for all SIF assets in Nairobi - Marsabit and Kismayo offices.
• Keeping track of all asset and equipment movements.
• Ensuring all assets and SIF properties are maintained to a good working order and appropriate standard.
Transport and Vehicle Management
• Ensuring that office vehicles are checked daily and road worthy before any assignment, as well that all the SIF vehicles insurance is renewed and up-to-date.
• Maintaining data and update records of all vehicles.
• Establishing regular service schedule.
Property Management
• Ensuring that sufficient safety and security standards for SIF staff and assets are in place in all premises.
• Maintaining regularly the security and safety equipment.
• Ensuring that SIF premises are well managed, maintained and kept clean.
Management - HR
• Supervising the recruitment of logistic staff.
• Managing logistic staff.
• Evaluating regularly the performances of the team members.
Security Management
• Implement the security policy in cooperation with the Head of Mission.
• Participating in the evaluation of the general security and the p rocedures.
• Participating in the security data collection, their analysis and the diffusion of alerts or important data.
You have worked a minimum of 3 years in humanitarian work in Logistics, including previous experiences in a similar context.
You possess a university degree in procurement/logistics and supply management or related fields.
You have a solid experience on suppliers' contract management.
You have good knowledge and experience of asset management and storekeeping.
You have strong communication skills, with excellent written and spoken English.
An understanding and commitment to SIF’s mission and values are necessary.
Proficiency in local language (Amharic/Somali) would be an asset.
Familiarity and/or experience in Somalia and/or Kenya would be appreciated.

Working conditions:
• Starting date : As soon as possible.
• French fixed term contract : 4 months.
• Remuneration according to our salary grid.
• Monthly perdiem.
• Social and medical cover (SIF contributes to 60% of the insurance).
• Guesthouse.
• R&R to your homecountry for your 6 months breaks.
• Leaves every 3 months.
