  • Mirema School is a Christian day and boarding institution committed to nurturing learners through academic excellence and holistic development. We are looking for a Creative Arts Teacher to join our Junior School team — someone who can make Art, Music, and/or Drama come alive for our learners.
  • This role requires a passionate educator who understands how to build confidence, self-expression, and creativity in children aged 6–11. You’ll design and deliver engaging lessons that align with the curriculum while making room for exploration, fun, and emotional development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teach engaging lessons in ArtMusic, or Drama aligned with the school’s curriculum.
  • Develop lesson plans, teaching resources, and activities that stimulate creativity and learning.
  • Encourage students to explore, express, and develop their unique artistic talents.
  • Apply diverse teaching strategies to support different learning styles and abilities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across subjects to deliver integrated learning projects.
  • Organize and oversee performances, exhibitions, or showcases for student work.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain a creative, inclusive, and safe classroom environment.
  • Monitor individual progress and provide extra support where necessary.
  • Instill an appreciation of the role of art in culture, life, and history.

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Secondary Teacher Education (with subject specialization in Art, Music, or Drama)
  • 2+ years of teaching experience in a junior or primary school setting
  • Registered with TSC (Teachers Service Commission)
  • Valid Certificate of Good Conduct

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Classroom management and child care awareness
  • Basic computer literacy for lesson preparation and reporting
  • First aid training is an added advantage
  • Organized, enthusiastic, and passionate about education and creativity
