Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field
• Master’s Degree preferred
• NEBOSH / IOSH / OSHA certification (mandatory).
• Minimum IQ years of EHS leadership experience in FMCG/manufacturing.
• Proven experience managing EHS across multiple sites with direct reporting teams.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan EHS laws and global frameworks.
• Skilled in QMS/ISO systems (1400I, 4500I, 900I) and certification management.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement.
• Fluent in English and Kiswahili; strong local networks an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- EHS Strategy & Leadership: Develop and improve company-wide EHS strategy;
lead governance and compliance across all sites; champion zero-harm culture.
- Policy & Compliance: Own/update policies, SOPs, and frameworks; ensure compliance with NEMA,
OSHA, DOSHB, fire safety, and environmental laws; manage audits and corrective actions.
- QMS & Certifications: Lead QMS and ISO systems, certification audits,
renewals, and continuous improvement
- Multi-site Oversight: Supervise EHS operations across three manufacturing sites;
manage direct reports, KPIs, reviews, reporting, and incident investigations.
- Risk & Incident Control: Drive hazard assessments, emergency preparedness,
root cause analysis, inspections, drills, and environmental monitoring.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with regulators, emergency services, industry bodies,
and community stakeholders on compliance, sustainability, and CSR.
- Training & Development: Deliver training and awareness programs for employees,
contractors, and visitors; promote accountability and safety culture.
