Job Purpose

Conducting laboratory analysis and quality verification of raw materials (Limestone, Dolomite, Kaolin, etc.) and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with the Mining Act 2016, EMCA 1999 (NEMA), and OSHA 2007.
  • Inspect quarry-run materials to confirm they meet geological and production specifications.
  • Perform routine sampling and testing during crushing, screening, and milling.
  • Conduct tests including sieve analysis, moisture determination, and bulk density.
  • Authorize product release or recommend rejection/reprocessing based on laboratory results.
  • Maintain accurate QC records, test logs, and non-conformance reports for traceability.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, or Quality Management.
  • 2-3 years of experience in quality control within mining, quarrying, or mineral processing.
  • Practical knowledge of testing industrial minerals and familiarity with Kenyan mining and safety regulations.
