Outspan Hospital started operations with the establishment of an Out Patient Department on August 7, 2001. A month later, the In Patient Department was opened with a capacity of 21 beds.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Diploma or BSc in Medical Laboratory Sciences.
• Valid registration/licensing with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB).
• At least 3 years of post-training experience, with the ability to perform quality routine work like analyze, review and interpret IQC and EQA data.
• Formal training in ISO 15189:2022 and internal auditing based on ISO 15189.
• Demonstrated competence in root cause analysis, risk management and the use of quality indicators.
• Previous involvement in KENAS accreditation, surveillance audits, internal audits, or QMS implementation would be an added advantage.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data management applications.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records, coordinate multiple quality activities, meet deadlines, and ensure systematic follow-up of audits, nonconformities, corrective actions, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrated technical ability in laboratory equipment operation, routine maintenance, troubleshooting and identification of equipment malfunctions.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, review, revise, standardise, control and maintain laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

• Analyze, review and interpret IQC and EQA data.
• Perform root cause analysis and risk management.

• Ensure systematic follow-up of audits, nonconformities, corrective actions, and quality improvement initiatives.
