Job Purpose:

To perform accurate and timely laboratory investigations to aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases, while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, receive, and process patient specimens (blood, urine, tissue, etc.).
  • Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests across various disciplines (hematology, chemistry, microbiology, etc.).
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Verify and validate test results for accuracy and reliability before release.
  • Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), quality control, and safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of all tests performed and results issued.
  • Manage laboratory inventory and request supplies as needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Diploma or Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences from a recognized institution.
  • Licensing: Must be registered and hold a valid practicing license from the relevant Laboratory Technologists Board/Council.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a busy hospital laboratory.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in using laboratory information systems.
  • Meticulous adherence to safety and quality standards.
