RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sort, wash, dry, press, iron, and fold hotel linens, uniforms, and guest garments according to established procedures.
  • Operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently, including washing machines, dryers, steam presses, and ironing equipment.
  • Inspect laundry items for stains, damage, or wear, and apply appropriate stain-removal techniques and fabric care procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and quality control for all laundered items before distribution.
  • Assist in receiving, counting, sorting, storing, and tracking inventory levels of clean linens, uniforms, and laundry supplies.
  • Process and deliver guest laundry requests promptly, professionally, and with strict confidentiality.
  • Adhere to all hotel health, safety, hygiene, sanitation, and chemical handling procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with housekeeping and other hotel departments, attending meetings and assisting with tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • KCSE Certificate or equivalent qualification, with a certificate in Housekeeping or Laundry Operations being an added advantage.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a hotel, restaurant laundry operation, or a similar luxury/five-star environment.
  • Strong knowledge of fabric care, laundry processes, stain-removal techniques, and chemical safety.
  • Practical capability to operate commercial laundry and pressing equipment safely.
  • Physical fitness to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and safely lift or move heavy laundry loads.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills, professional appearance, and a reliable, team-oriented attitude.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays in conditions that involve exposure to heat and steam.
