The Laundry Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hospital laundry service to ensure the timely collection, processing, distribution, and storage of clean linen, uniforms, and hospital textiles. The role ensures compliance with hygiene, infection prevention, quality control, inventory management, and operational efficiency standards while maintaining uninterrupted laundry services across the hospital.
- Supervise daily laundry operations including sorting, washing, drying, ironing, folding, and distribution of hospital linen and uniforms.
- Ensure continuous availability of clean linen and textiles across all hospital departments.
- Coordinate efficient laundry workflows to meet departmental requirements.
- Ensure timely collection and delivery of laundry items.
- Monitor linen inventory levels and stock movement.
- Maintain accurate records of linen issuance, returns, damages, and replacements.
- Minimize linen losses, damage, and wastage.
- Manage laundry consumables including detergents, disinfectants, and related supplies.
- Monitor resource utilization to support continuous operations.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of laundry personnel.
- Allocate duties to maximize productivity and workflow efficiency.
- Train and mentor staff on operational procedures, safety practices, and quality standards.
- Monitor staff performance and promote continuous improvement.
- Ensure safe operation of laundry equipment.
- Report equipment faults and coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs.
- Implement quality control measures for linen cleanliness and presentation.
- Maintain operational efficiency by minimizing equipment downtime.
- Ensure compliance with hospital hygiene standards.
- Monitor segregation and handling of contaminated linen.
- Implement infection prevention and control procedures.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout laundry operations.
- Prepare reports on laundry operations and performance.
