Background information about the job or company (e.g., role context, company overview)

Kincentric Leadership is currently accepting applications for its Living Systems Alliance Community of Practice 2026.

A community of practice is a group of people who learn together by regularly sharing, doing, and refining a practice they care about. The LSA Community of Practice will be made up by members of up to 10 regional partnerships from across the world, as well as team members from the LSA partners. For one year, we will come together online to share and learn from each other, receive training and mentoring from LSA partners, contribute to a new resource for community-led initiatives and networks, and design and carry out local pilot projects to put our learnings into practice.

Responsibilities or duties

We will come together online to share and learn from each other, receive training and mentoring from LSA partners, contribute to a new resource for community-led initiatives and networks, and design and carry out local pilot projects to put our learnings into practice.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

The call is for you if:

  • You are a place-based partnership or alliance, formal or informal, bringing together different types of groups or organisations. This might include community groups, civil society organisations, indigenous land or territorial stewardship organisations, local councils, cooperatives, transition initiatives, permaculture or ecovillage initiatives, community gardens, educational institutions, local enterprises, or similar actors.
  • Your work operates at a regional or bioregional scale, rather than focusing on a single organisation or community.
  • You are already working together, formally or informally, with shared activity underway.
  • Your partnership includes at least one legally registered organisation that is 5 or more years old, with a track-record of community-led practice.
  • You are connected to at least one LSA partner organisation through an existing relationship, at any scale (local, regional, global).
  • You are applying as a partnership or coalition, not as a single organisation. Your partnership can be informal or formal, it doesn’t matter.
  • You can name two committed people to anchor this work, at least one with experience in facilitating or stewarding collaborative, community based processes.
  • You are ready to participate in online sessions and collaborations, with interpretation from English available if needed.
  • You are able to commit to 3 hours per week for this process over a 12 month period. Stipends are available for CoP members who do not have funded roles, but might not cover all time spent.

And crucially:

  • Your work reflects an understanding that humans are part of nature
  • you are committed to exploring nature-centric ways of working
  • You feel a resonance with LSA’s ethos: community-led transformation, place-based action, learning through practice, and organising as part of the wider web of life.
  • You are keen to work in an environment that welcomes many ways of knowing, acting, and understanding the world.

Experience needed

Your partnership includes at least one legally registered organisation that is 5 or more years old, with a track-record of community-led practice.

At least one of the two committed people to anchor this work should have experience in facilitating or stewarding collaborative, community based processes.

Any other provided details (e.g., benefits, work environment, team info, or additional notes)

Each partnership that is invited to join the Community of Practice will receive:

  • A needs-based stipend of £5,000–£10,000 to support participation and piloting.
  • Access to a global Community of Practice, offering peer support and learning across movements, locations and projects.
  • Training, mentoring and shared learning with experts and practitioners from each of the LSA partner organisations - Transition Network International, Global Ecovillage Network, the Biomimicry Institute, Kincentric Leadership and the Permaculture Association.
  • Support in designing and implementing a regional pilot.
  • Increased reach and visibility through participation in the Living Systems Alliance.
  • The chance to become a vital contributor to the LSA and our mission
