RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

Provide comprehensive nursing services to all patients to assist them regain good health

Participate in ward rounds and writing ward reports

Prepares specific ward reports and timely submit the same.

Carry out nursing care plan

Maintaining intravenous IV fluids

Carry out blood transfusion

Monitor and deliver mothers in labour, receiving and resuscitating babies

Order and administer drugs

Assist in the theatre

Recruit new clients for MCH/FP and give health talks and training to patients and clients

Provides Family Planning Services and Child Welfare Clinics

Counselling of patients

Follow and maintain antiseptic technique and ensure infection prevention SOPs are followed

Instrument cleaning/sluicing and sterilization/autoclaving

Cleaning and dressing of wounds, removal of stitches

Writing down patients diets and ensuring the same is followed

Nursing patients on transit to referral hospitals and ensure the same are procedurally admitted to hospitals.

Prepares specific ward reports and timely submit the same

Carry out preventative medicine form time to time

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse(KRCHN)

Must be registered in the Nursing Council of Kenya and with a valid license

Minimum two years working experience in related field
