Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual and/or CNC machines (lathe, milling, grinding, drilling, etc.) to produce components according to engineering drawings.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
  • Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and cutting parameters for each job.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure machines are operating safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect finished products using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met.
  • Adjust machine settings as required to maintain tolerances and address production issues.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including job sheets, measurements, and material usage.
  • Work closely with engineering and production teams to optimize processes and improve machining efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Requirements

  • Certificate, Diploma, or Trade Test in Machining, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience operating manual or CNC machines. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes, materials, and cutting tools.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, etc.).
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
