Job Summary:
Kenya Holding Company is seeking a visionary and results-driven Managing Director to lead, scale, and transform a diversified portfolio of businesses shaping the future of agriculture, food, hospitality, real estate, and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set and own the holding company's annual strategy, operating plan, and performance targets.
- Lead and develop the Finance, Operations, and Business Development directors.
- Build governance frameworks, policies, decision rights, escalation paths, and reporting cadences.
- Audit operations, identify gaps, and build company-wide SOPs and standards.
- Manage external relationships with legal, banks, regulators, suppliers, and strategic partners.
- Oversee AI monitoring and command-center systems across all locations.
- Build the framework for exits, restructurings, or capital raises.
- Deliver quarterly board-style updates for the founder and recommend strategic moves.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 10+ years in senior leadership of complex, multi-unit organizations in Kenya or East Africa.
- Proven track record scaling teams and building systems from the ground up.
- Experience building governance, policies, and SOPs from scratch.
- Experience navigating regulatory complexity and diverse stakeholders in emerging markets.
- Familiarity with agribusiness, vertical integration, hospitality, or real estate is strongly preferred.
- Advanced degree (MBA, MA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Track record of turning around underperforming operations.
