ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Brand Building, Marketing & Demand Generation

  • Develop, align and implement the company’s marketing strategy in line with business objectives and the overall strategic plan, in collaboration with the CEO and Board where applicable.
  • Manage the full marketing mix (product, pricing, channels, promotion, people, process and environment) to drive brand awareness and demand generation across target segments.
  • Design and manage an effective marketing channel and media mix (digital and traditional), ensuring optimal ROI and alignment with business priorities.
  • Execute brand building and demand generation campaigns, balancing short-term lead generation with long-term brand equity, with clearly defined annual targets and quarterly reviews.

Business Development & Lead Pipeline Management

  • Build, maintain and actively manage a robust prospect and lead pipeline, tracking lead stages, conversion rates and ROI from demand generation activities.
  • Design, implement and continuously improve a lead qualification and prioritization process to ensure effective follow-up and optimal use of resources.
  • Personally pursue and/or allocate qualified leads to relevant team members, escalating capacity needs to the CEO where required.
  • Develop and maintain standardized pitch decks, company profiles and proposal templates, approved by the CEO and ready for rapid deployment.
  • Customize proposals, pitches and tender submissions to client/prospect needs, ensuring accuracy, quality and timely submission.
  • Coordinate and manage client pitches, meetings and proposal presentations, ensuring appropriate resource allocation and scheduling.
  • Drive prospects through the full sales cycle from initial lead to contract signing and first invoice, ensuring accurate sales recording.
  • Grow revenue from existing clients through upselling, cross-selling and repeat business, with defined annual targets, retention plans and quarterly performance reviews.

Administration, Resources & Communications Management

  • Support the CEO in planning and scaling the marketing, business development and administrative functions as the business grows, including team structure and role definition.
  • Manage and coordinate external suppliers for marketing, digital, media and office services, ensuring performance, value for money and service quality.
  • Coordinate media buying, marketing events, networking forums and promotional activities in line with brand and growth objectives.
  • Manage the CEO’s calendar and appointments, prioritizing client, stakeholder and internal engagements effectively.
  • Establish and maintain efficient, secure and largely paperless filing and document management systems.
  • Implement and manage internal and external communication strategies, ensuring consistent messaging to clients, staff and stakeholders.
  • Oversee office administration, including petty cash management, supplier replenishment and monthly reporting to the CEO.
  • Facilitate staff administrative processes, including leave and travel documentation.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the line manager from time to time.

EDUCATION, PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business development, business administration or a related field with strong marketing and client service focus. A master’s degree (MBA, Marketing or Digital Marketing) is an added advantage.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing marketing, business development and/or communication initiatives.
  • Strong digital marketing capability, with hands-on experience creating and executing campaigns across digital platforms.
  • Excellent administrative, organizational and efficiency skills, with strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related tools, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook (calendar management) and project planning tools.
  • Comfortable with digital technologies, including basic website setup and maintenance, desktop/laptop systems and mobile applications (iOS and Android).
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic software and hardware issues and identify when specialist support is required.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and ability to work effectively with finance teams.
  • Fluent in English and Kiswahili; ability to learn additional languages is an advantage.
  • Confident communicator, able to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and seniority levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage customer leads and successfully convert prospects into clients.
  • Demonstrate ability to administer suppliers of services related to office management and marketing/media/communication.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability in leading people.
  • A well-rounded professional with the ability to balance analytical thinking, communication and execution. Comfortable designing and developing marketing strategies and campaigns, presenting ideas to senior stakeholders and prospects, and engaging directly with clients in the market.
  • Demonstrated experience in at least two of the following areas: campaign/strategy development, stakeholder presentations, or client-facing business development/sales activities. Experience in all three is an added advantage.
