Job Specification

Requirements:

  1. A minimum period of thirteen (13) years relevant work experience and at least three (3) of which must have been in a Supervisory position in the Public Service or Private Sector; 
  2. Master’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; 
  3. Bachelor’s degree in any of the following: Life Sciences, Bio-Medical Sciences, Sales and Marketing, Business Management, Commerce (Marketing) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; 
  4. Leadership Course not lasting less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution; 
  5. Member of professional body in good standing where applicable; 
  6. Demonstrated high standards of professional competence and managerial ability; 
  7. Proficiency in computer application skills; and 
  8. Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution.

  1. Managerial, Supervisory, coaching and mentoring skills; 
  2. Statistical, conceptual and predictive analysis skills; 
  3. Financial acumen and commercial awareness; 
  4. Organizational and administrative skills; 
  5. Risk Management skills; 
  6. Ability to form and maintain partnerships and collaborations; 
  7. Negotiation and conflict management skills; 
  8. Integrity; and 
  9. Results-driven. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Coordinating the development and implementation of marketing and business development strategies, policies and standards;
  2. Coordinating the formulation of demand forecasting and identification of business growth opportunities;
  3. Coordinating full market research cycle to inform new product development;
  4. Developing business partnerships;
  5. Coordinating promotion of Institute products;
  6. Facilitating product and market development;
  7. Overseeing the preparation of periodic work progress reports;
  8. Coordinating the development, assignment and review of performance against set key indicators;
  9. Representing the Institute in marketing forums;
  10. Guiding the development of divisional annual work plans and budgets and ensure prudent utilization of resources; and
  11. Contributing to current innovation, technical and operational knowledge on matters affecting the pharmaceutical industry through publications, editorials, among others;
