Background

Maryjoy School was founded in 1998 as a Nursery School, expanded to Primary in 2001 and Junior secondary school in 2023. Our educational program caters to all students.. Our specialized and individualized curriculum caters to students of all abilities, from students of determination to gifted and talented students. Maths/Chem Teacher

This teacher delivers lessons across Mathematics and Chemistry, developing analytical, problem-solving, and scientific skills.

Mathematics Responsibilities:

  • Teach Core Mathematics: Cover arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and statistics as per the curriculum.
  • Problem-Solving: Develop students' ability to apply mathematical concepts to solve real-world problems.
  • Logical Reasoning: Foster critical thinking and logical reasoning skills.
  • Exam Preparation: Prepare students for KNEC Mathematics examinations.

Chemistry Responsibilities:

  • Teach Core Chemistry Topics: Cover atomic structure, chemical bonding, periodic table, acids and bases, rates of reaction, and organic chemistry.
  • Practical Chemistry: Conduct laboratory experiments (titrations, qualitative analysis) to develop practical skills.
  • Scientific Method: Teach students to make observations, record data, and draw conclusions.
  • Applications: Demonstrate chemistry's role in daily life, agriculture, and industry.
  • Lab Safety: Enforce strict safety protocols in the chemistry laboratory.
  • Exam Preparation: Prepare students for KNEC Chemistry examinations.

General Teaching Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons catering to different learning styles and abilities.
  • Set, administer, and mark tests, assignments, and examinations, providing constructive feedback.
  • Maintain a positive, orderly, and safe classroom environment.
  • Maintain accurate student records and communicate with parents/guardians on student progress.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be Registered by TSC
  • Must have at least 3 yrs Experience in Teaching
  • Knowledge in ICT is an added advantage
  • Excellent communication and writting skills
  • Most be CBE & CBC Compliant
  • Holder of a P1 Certificate or an Upgrades Diploma in Education
  • Willing to contribute in co-curricular activities
