MATRON

1 Position

Job Summary

The Matron will oversee the welfare, discipline, cleanliness, safety, and general wellbeing of students within the school environment, particularly in boarding or residential areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor students' general welfare and wellbeing.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly residential environment.
  • Supervise students and ensure compliance with school rules and routines.
  • Support students with day-to-day welfare needs.
  • Monitor cleanliness and hygiene in dormitories and common areas.
  • Work closely with teachers, the school nurse, administration, and parents where necessary.
  • Identify and report student welfare or behavioural concerns.
  • Maintain appropriate records relating to student welfare and residential matters.
  • Support meal times, study periods, bedtime routines, and other school activities where required.
  • Assist in responding to student emergencies and welfare concerns.
  • Promote positive discipline, respect, responsibility, and good conduct.
  • Support the school in creating a caring and supportive environment for students.

Ideal Candidate

  • Relevant qualification in education, social work, nursing, childcare, hospitality, or a related field is an advantage.
  • Previous experience working with children or in a boarding-school/residential environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patient, responsible, caring, and approachable.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong organisational and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to handle student welfare matters professionally.
