JOB DETAILS:

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to maintain and optimize machinery at our Thika plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient mechanical operations through proper maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor parts/stock inventory and replenish supplies as necessary
• Optimize mechanical efficiency by adjusting machinery and equipment settings
• Train co-workers on safe and efficient use of mechanical machinery
• Maintain tidy work environment and adhere to industry regulations
• Perform mechanical installations, maintenance, and repairs
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement effective solutions
• Read and interpret technical manuals and documentation

Qualifications and Requirements

Education:

• Post-Secondary diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a similar role
• Experience in mechanical/technical troubleshooting preferred
• Background in mechanical engineering systems, installations, and repairs

Technical Skills:

• Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering systems
• Proficiency in mechanical design and diagnostics
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) desirable

Personal Attributes:

• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Adaptable to changing situations and surroundings
• Self-driven with ability to work with minimal supervision
• Creative, disciplined, and observant
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals
