Responsibilities

Responsible for maintaining updated inventory

Responsible for overall maintenance of equipment and facilities within the designated work station ensuring they are in good working condition and order

Cleanliness, organization and general layout of the work station

Responsible for issuing and receiving tools and equipment to and from trainers and trainees

Reporting to section heads on delays, problems, materials equipment needed and progress on practical requisitions

Preparation and assembly of practical materials

Ensuring safety of the workshop and equipment

Responsible for supervising and ensuring safety measures amongst trainees and any attachees in the workshop

Carrying out maintenance in other areas within the institute for which he/she is knowledgeable and is called upon to do so

Qualifications

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Must have at least 3 years' experience with a reputable institution

Knowledge in operating Milling and Lathe Machines (Both conventional and CNC)

Certificate in welding and fabrication is an added advantage

Registered with Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK)

Must be computer literate

Above the age of 25 years
