Background

Mandera County continued to register positive progress anchored on achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) despite challenges and the devastating effects of climate change, which saw prolonged dry spells followed by heavy rains and flooding. Floods displaced families, washed away crops and farming infrastructure and cut off roads. The resilience of our people was put to the test afresh.

Duties and responsibilities

• Offering general diagnostic or other laboratory services in a medical laboratory.
• Offering blood transfusion services.
• Mentoring and coaching of student on attachment.
• Performing administrative duties.
• Monitoring provision of health care in the county;
• Analyzing medical report in area of specialization;

Requirements for Appointment

• Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences from Kenya Medical Training College or any other Institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board.
• Be registered and in good standing by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board as a Registered Medical Laboratory Technologists.
• At least one-year experience in a busy hospital.
• Computer skills will be added advantage
• Have capacity to multitask within strict timeliness with minimum supervision

Other details

NOTE: Member of the Audit Committee shall be appointed for a term of three years and shall be eligible for re-appointment for a further one term only. Remuneration: This is not a salaried position; Allowances applicable shall be determined by the salaries and remuneration commission. A person shall not be qualified for appointment as a Chair or a member of Audit Committee if the persons: - Is present or past employee of the County Government of Mandera. Have served as an employee or an agent of a business organization which has carried out business with County Government of Mandera for the last two years
