1. OVERVIEW

Matata Nursing Hospital is one of the leading private healthcare in Oyugis town, Homa Bay County, Kenya with over 30 years in the healthcare industry. Matata runs 135 hospital beds with over 150 staff members.

• Clinical Assessment: Examine patients, take detailed medical histories, order diagnostic tests, and formulate accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Emergency Response: Provide urgent medical attention, resuscitation, and stabilization for patients in the Accident & Emergency (A&E).
• Ward Rounds & Inpatient Care: Conduct daily ward rounds, monitor patient progress, adjust treatments, and collaborate with specialists when necessary.
• Procedures & Surgeries: Perform routine medical and minor surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and proper consent protocols.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient medical records. Prepare clinical reports for hospital management or public health authorities.
• Staff Supervision: Guide, mentor, and supervise junior doctors, clinical officers, nursing staff, and medical interns.
• Public Health & Outreach: Participate in preventive healthcare, continuous medical education (CME), health talks, and community outreach programs.

• Strong diagnostic skills, excellent communication, computer proficiency, and the ability to work under pressure.

• Minimum of 1 to 3 years of post-internship clinical experience, ideally in a busy hospital or emergency unit.
