St. Luke’s Orthopaedic and Trauma Hospital is an ultra-modern hospital started in the year 2012, after operating as a clinic and an orthopaedics supplier since year 2005.

Job Purpose

The overall purpose of this job is to oversee patient care both outpatient and inpatient and ensure continuity of care in line with established protocols and the hospital’s patient care objectives.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree from a recognized institution.
  • Must be registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council and hold a valid practicing licence.
  • Basic Life Support Certificate

Experience needed

  • Minimum of 1-year post internship experience

  • Attend to, examine and make clinical diagnosis, prescribe medication and discharge patients in line with established protocols;
  • Attend to emergencies, stabilize patients, request for investigations and/or tests for further assessments in order to diagnose and advise on appropriate treatment;
  • Admit patients to the wards, HDU and/or ICU as necessary to ensure patients receive utmost attention;
  • Initiate transfer patients out of the hospital where the hospital lacks capacity to accommodate patients;
  • Carry out medical and surgical procedures in line with patients’ conditions;
  • Facilitate in medical camps and participate in CSR activities organized by the hospital;
  • Prepare patients’ medical reports and discuss the results with the patients;
  • Ensure high levels of patient confidentiality and work ethic in line with applicable code of conduct and hospital objectives; and
  • Any other responsibilities that may be assigned to the jobholder by the supervisor from time to time
